Ben Pekarek

I'm currently a member of the technical staff at Generalist, where I am working with an incredible team to bring general intelligence to the physical world.

I previously received my Master's in Electrical Engineering at Stanford, where I was advised by Shuran Song in the Robotics and Embodied AI Lab (REAL). Alongside Austin Patel, I explored how robots can learn from limited supervision and interact more naturally with people. Our project was Behavior Prompting Policy, a system for conditioning robot behavior using a single demonstration of a new task (a "prompt"). A preprint will be available soon.

Before Stanford, I studied Electrical Engineering at Purdue for undergrad. There I helped develop a wireless charging system for in-motion electric semi-trucks under Dr. Aliprantis and Dr. Brovont, technology that is now deployed on U.S. Highway 231.

In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, reading, and exploring new places. I also love to cook and bake, and I'm always looking for new recipes to try. I like receiving emails, so if you're considering it, send one to me.
